Relax and Trust In God’s Abundance
Return and rest is taking a swift turn from depending on yourself to focus on God. The dictionary definition for return is come or go back to a place or person. In regard to this return, I’m referring to returning a person who is God, who can save you from all your troubles.
Rest has two forms, resting from work or resting at the end of the day (that is going to bed). The second rest is been assured of something and putting your trust or confidence in someone or a higher power (God) whom you believe and feel at peace with because you He is taking care of your needs and everything that concerns your life.
You have tried everything to get peace and rest from all your problems and troubles but to no avail, it’s time to return and rest in the Lord.
Depending on God to find your strength
Sometimes God lets us run the course of our own self-sufficiency until we have proven, not only to ourselves but to everybody else, that we cannot do it on our own. Then He says to us in a soft voice, “in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”
Another translation for quietness and confidence would be “utter trust”: Quietness + Confidence = Strength. It is not the world’s formula; it is God’s.
Quietness means “cessation from activity.” God wanted His people to regroup, to come to Him, to seek Him in the solitude of their hearts, and to receive His guidance. Our fatal tendency is to think we become strong by exerting ourselves and striving hard after things. But God says this is not the way to achieve strength.
The inward fortitude needed to face life’s difficulties comes only as we open our hearts to Christ in the quiet moment, ceasing from activity and letting Him supply guidance, confidence, and direction as we reflect on His Word.
Besides, return to Him, find rest and be saved. Trust and rely on God for life questions and He will give you the answers you need. Don’t depend on your own self-sufficiency or take counsel and advise from wrong sources.
Each day we are faced with challenges and problems that threatens our very existence and we’re confronted to make choices of which way to go. It is during this time of uncertainty that you have to make the right choice, which is relying on God for your answers.

An example is, the people of Judah were once threatened and had two choices for confronting their fear; turn to God or turn to human advisers. They turned to Egypt the nearer ally they could find to help them through the difficulty which resulted in shame and humiliation, Isaiah 30:1-5.
Who do you take your counsel from?
Most importantly, ask for God’s advice in 2020 in every step or decisions you make. Don’t strengthen yourself in the strength of others and trusting in the shadow of people. The strength of humans will bring you shame and humiliation.
And for all these years you have depended on your self-sufficiency and on people for help in times of difficulty but it has only brought you pain and shame, why not return and rest in the Lord whose arms are wide open to receive you, believing in His promises that He will never leave you nor forsake you, a present help in time of trouble.
Are you tired of chasing after things and your own tale, but to no avail? Find rest in God!
Now to enjoy your life, cease from trying to fix things with your own understanding and rely, lean, depend and adhere to the Lord’s rest, by reading His word.
