Knowing God Through His Love
To most people knowing God through His love has somehow become difficult due to the circumstances of life. But here is how to know the love of God.
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him (1 John 4:8-9).
God is not just loving, “God is love.” All that anyone knows about real love is rooted in the character and nature of Almighty God, who is the origin, originator, and orchestrator of all true love. The biblical concept of love means seeking the best for a person while asking nothing in return. Only God can produce that kind of love in a person.
Understanding that God is a good God and that He loves us takes away the effectiveness of Satan’s weapons against our faith. You may be praying for a breakthrough in an area of your life and you know what the Word says, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). You probably know all about the principles of having faith and confessing the Word, yet you’ve got this nagging doubt that you can’t overcome. It is a fear inside that makes you wonder, Is God really going to heal or help me?
Do you know that fear would be totally cast out of your thinking if you understood the perfect love of God for you? 1 John 4:18 says, “perfect love casts out fear.” If you become fearful, wondering if God’s will for your life is actually going to come to pass, then you don’t really understand and know God and His immense love.
God’s love for us is not an ordinary love, such as unbelievers have; it is a love like God’s-holy, unconditional, passionate, and sacrificial. So, the believer’s response to the love of God is by loving others. This testifies that we are walking in the light and in the life of God.
God loves you deeply! He is always with you!
Consider this:
- Have you accepted God’s love for your life?
- Do you understand the perfect love of God?
Prayer: Father, I thank You Lord for loving me unconditionally. Help me to understand and accept Your love, that in time of life’s difficulties, I will not fear.
