The verbal and emotional abuse, hearing constantly from my stepmothers of how useless I was and good for nothing, created a certain negative picture in my mind about myself and life as a whole, which lived with me for decades.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]My father and mother divorced when I was a toddler. And at age 12, my dad requested me coming over to spend the term’s vacation holidays with him. I was excited because that was the first time I was traveling with my dad and also moving from where I lived with my mother to another town. Little did I know that, that was the last time I will ever stay with my mom and the beginning of a difficult life.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]I lived with one stepmother after the other till I got married. The challenges and abuses I suffered from my upbringing formed a certain negative impression in my mind about life. I did not have an independent mind, always trying to please people and thought their opinions were much better than mine. I tried to proof to people that I got it all together just to fit in and receive some love. This continued my entire childhood, youth, and part of my adult life, even though I was a born again Christian, I couldn’t break myself from my past, until all hell broke loose on my organization and I lost everything I’ve established and had to travel outside my country to look for a job to pay my debtors.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]I perceived life with the lenses of my experience and as a result of my inexperience and sometimes sheer lack of understanding of myself and the business world; I lost everything and had to start all over again several times. In every case when this happen, I will begin by sitting down with an exercise book writing down all the things I needed to do for my next move.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]After several years of not achieving my plans in life and in business, I came to my wit end and surrendered to God to lead my life. That was when I began to identify the potentials God has put inside me.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]The Lord always has a way of reaching out to the people who are at their lowest bottom. In my isolation, I decided to spend more time with God everyday and I found my consolation in His word and watching Christian Television by listening to some of the renowned preachers. I needed to understand the basics of my Faith and my Purpose in life. And gradually my perspective about life was shifted, transformed and my way of thinking changed. This sense of freedom from more than three decades of living under this stressful life stirred up a longing in me to reach out and help others who might be in a similar situation like me or even worse to find that freedom in their mind to live the abundant life Jesus promised us in John 10:10[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]
What do I do to get into relationship with God?
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][blockquote text=”All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, everyone, to his own way. Isaiah 53:6a” show_quote_icon=”yes” width=”95″ line_height=”32″ quote_icon_color=”#ffffff”][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]The story of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11 indicate how God yearns for the return of His lost children. We are not waiting on God; it vice versa, God is waiting on us. In most cases we all wants to do things in our own way, give me mine, it’s all about me. The self-centered life is always in hurry, but when we surrender our lives to the Lord, He cleanses us from all unrighteousness and restores us back to Himself.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]The love of God for us is not less or more when we sin. His love is unconditional, always waiting on us to turn back to Him. The prodigal son after realizing how far he has fallen by turning away from his Father, he came back and asked for His father’s forgiveness. Turn back to God and He will forgive you of your sins and restore His relationship with you.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]Five things you need to get raid off to get back to God;[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”25px”][icon_text box_type=”normal” icon=”fa-check-circle” icon_type=”normal” icon_position=”left” icon_size=”fa-lg” use_custom_icon_size=”no” separator=”no” text=”Be dissatisfied with your way of life.”][icon_text box_type=”normal” icon=”fa-check-circle” icon_type=”normal” icon_position=”left” icon_size=”fa-lg” use_custom_icon_size=”no” separator=”no” text=”Decide to come out of that lifestyle by surrendering your life to God.”][icon_text box_type=”normal” icon=”fa-check-circle” icon_type=”normal” icon_position=”left” icon_size=”fa-lg” use_custom_icon_size=”no” separator=”no” text=”I don’t like my way of living right now.”][icon_text box_type=”normal” icon=”fa-check-circle” icon_type=”normal” icon_position=”left” icon_size=”fa-lg” use_custom_icon_size=”no” separator=”no” text=”I don’t like getting distance from God.”][icon_text box_type=”normal” icon=”fa-check-circle” icon_type=”normal” icon_position=”left” icon_size=”fa-lg” use_custom_icon_size=”no” separator=”no” text=”I am always over worked and frustrated with no improvement in my life.”][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]Get fed up with the way you are living and be eager for a change. Nothing happens until we become dissatisfied with our way of life Luke 15:13-24, this is where transformation starts. You may feel overwhelmed with work, marriage, children, health problems, finances and frustrated all the time. “I don’t even know myself and nobody likes me and I don’t like me either.” The Bible says; “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jer. 29:13. The Lord keeps on knocking at the door of your heart to let Him in.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]Take responsibility for your sin; I take responsibility for my sin, acknowledging that I brought this upon me because of the negative choices I made. Luke 15:17-18 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you”. To live without God brings untold hardship to you and it’s very unfulfilling and not sustainable.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]This is how sometimes you think; ‘I love doing it my own way not living God’s way, thinking, you know what is best for my life. Sometimes you would say, ‘I need to be doing this to cover up all of my fears, trying to control everything around me even, though I know I can’t control it’. And in doing so, you get tired of controlling everything. Isaiah 1:16. Whenever you feel far from God, check yourself, you may have given your love to something else either than God, making those things idol in your life. God doesn’t move, we move. God is always waiting on us to come back to Him.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”47px”][vc_column_text]Everything in life is achievable when you put your mind to it.[/vc_column_text][/qode_elements_holder_item][/qode_elements_holder][/vc_column][/vc_row]
