Life is full of ups and downs but those who prevail are the ones who do not give up no matter how life puts them down. So what do you do?
Issues may come, struggles, pain, betrayal, abuse, unfaithfulness from your partner may happen but in all these things, when you are able to turn your problems to the Lord you will overcome and succeed.
Joseph’s story in Genesis 39, is clear example of those who puts their trust in God in all circumstances in life.
Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian, Genesis 39:1-2.
Joseph was a slave at Potiphar’s house because his own brothers sold him into slavery. Even though he was a slave in a foreign land, he showed great faith and righteousness. He continued to trust in God and remained faithful to him.
Although Joseph was physically alone, the Lord was with him. Because of this support, Joseph not only endued but prospered. The same is true for all of God’s servants and Christians, no matter your circumstance, your fellowship with the Lord means freedom from fear and loneliness.
But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. Isaiah 43:1-2

2. Pray and praise
Present your issues before God in prayer, believing that He hears you and desires to see you free and well. Because He has already dealt with every form of difficult through Jesus Christ who died on the cross to pay for our sins and saved us from all our troubles.
After you have prayed, praise God for your answered prayer even though sometimes you may still see the problem. With this attitude of praise, you are telling God that you trust Him and you know He will come through for you.

What I did wrong
So in my case, I had favor with my bosses wherever I worked. And I thought there was something special about me that makes me stand out, which was true. That something was the Lord’s favor upon me, but in my pride, I thought it was my own abilities that made me different.
Just like in Joseph’s case, he attributed his success as the favor of God and God being with him. So he allowed the Lord to work things out for him in Egypt, a foreign land. And at the end of it all, he overcame the lies from his boss’s (Potiphar) wife, and his imprisonment to become the Prime Minister of Egypt because the Lord was with him.
