Why Should You Pray Before and After Conception
Have you considered why you should pray as a mom before and after conception? Do you think it is necessary? Here is how to find out more.
Children are heritage from God, and He gives them as a gift to us. In Psalms 127:3, God declares, “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward.”
As a woman, childbearing is a blessing God ordain from the beginning of creation. When He told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply, Genesis 9:7, therefore accept this fact that your womb is blessed to be fruitful with children.
Prayer Eliminate Anxiousness
The first thing most of us women look forward to after the wedding is our first child. We are so much in an anticipation of it that we become anxious when there’s a little delay. And, the pressure from friends and family members makes it worse because to them, within a certain time frame after marriage you must give birth. But you don’t have to live according to the dictate of men but God, for He who has promised to bless your womb will do it.
That is why you have to pray for the peace of God to keep your heart and mind. “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3″
This kind of pressure caught up with me when I first got married. I was wondering, so, what does God have in store for me concerning children? Will I conceive immediately or not? You see, even though we know the word and promises of God concerning our lives, we mostly allow how we feel and see things control our lives. And this fear can cripple you.
Anxiety cannot stop women from getting pregnant, but it can affect how long it takes to get pregnant!
Pray Against Fear
I once heard a story of a young woman who after getting married had no hope of ever getting pregnant because barrenness ran through her family. It took her mother several years before giving birth to her, and as for her auntie, she never gave birth.
So, this idea of maybe she might also not get pregnant hunted her. One day her mother visited her, and she gathered the courage to ask her, mother, has barrenness always been a problem in our family? The mother was quite for some time then she said, I think our main problem has been ‘fear’ because your grandma told me she had the same fear when she married.
Fear is a weapon of the devil which prevents you from progressing in life and sucks your energy to do anything positive. It steals you joy and confidence in the Lord which cripples you from enjoying the promises of God and the abundant life. So, with the encouragement from her mother, she was no more fearful and at the right time, she gave birth.
My Fearless and Brave Journal will help you gain your confidence.
On the other hand, other women fear whether they can carry the fetus to term, or whether their kids will reach normal developmental milestones. Others are afraid of how they are going to raise their children in a godly way in this perverse world. In either way, as I have explained above, fear is one thing we shouldn’t entertain in every area of our lives.
You need to trust and have faith in God, staying your mind on Him and letting handle your cares for you. “Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. 1Peter 5:17″ He has not left us to bear our problems alone and has promised to be with us always.
“….. for He (God) Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give up nor leave you without support. (I will) not, (I will) not, (I will) not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let (you) down (relax My hold on you)! (Assuredly not!) Hebrews 13:5b (AMP)
Have Faith in God
In Hebrews 4:2, the Bible says the gospel did not profit the Israelites because they did not believe in God’s rest proclaimed to them and did not receive the gospel with faith.
Faith is God’s way for His people to appropriate what He has provided for us. Christians do not need to work to enter into the rest of salvation; we only need to trust Christ’s finished work and believe.
Hebrews 4:3. Again, Romans 14:23 says, “But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith, for whatever is not from faith is sin.”
The devil wants to make you fearful to enable him take control of your life. God wants you to come boldly to Him and not being afraid that He will turn you away, so you never need to hide or omit anything from your prayers.
God gives mercy for past failures and grace for present needs. Jesus Christ our High Priest, assist and sustains His people in weaknesses and in difficulties. Your time of need could be understood as just the right time to dwell closer to Him. Hebrews 4:16.
