Everything Has its Time and Season
In as much as we all desire to know the seasons of our lives at anytime and to live accordingly, everything has its time and season, find out how.
To everything there is a season. A time for every purpose under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
Every season of a person’s life is determined and purposed by God. He is intimately involved in every beginning and ending, every growth and decline. God has set the boundaries of the harvest, and one’s observance of them affects the bounty. In all of life, to do anything out of season limits the prospects for full prosperity.
There is time and season for everything in this life. God has built certain rhythms into His world. The steady repetition of the seasons provides a comfortable, workable tempo to life. Yet each season (time of life) will pass.
Time cannot be stored, stopped, or slowed. Because there is a time limit to everything in this life, each experience is a gift that we have been entrusted with and must not be wasted. The time we have is our gift from God and, like money, it should be managed wisely, not just spent. So we must always be mindful that, whatever this moment, this too shall pass. For every birth, there will be a death, whenever someone is crying, someone else is celebrating; and in each season of life, whatever purpose God intends is the purpose we must live. Make good use of the time God has given you.
In Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, Solomon shows the influence of time on our bodies, our souls, and our spirits and shows Gods sovereignty in every aspect of human existence. A god who only loves but is not in control is not a god worth worshipping. We have a God who is both – a God with a plan and a God who is good.
God is the source of everything in your life.
There may be no greater wisdom than knowing the seasons of the tongue, discerning when to be silent and when to speak!
Consider this:
- What time and season are you in now?
- How are you spending the time God has given you?
Prayer: Father, thank You for giving me the gift of life and the time entrusted to me, that I may not waist it but discern Your purposes for my life each day and live accordingly. Amen!
