God has More for Your Life
How can God have more for your life, if everything around you is not adding up? You maybe asking yourself this question, learn more.
Gideon said to Him, “O my lord,” if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt’ But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites (Judges 6:13).
The children of Israel had done evil in the sight of God so God delivered them into the hands of the Midianites who prevailed against them and made their lives miserable. Because of that, the children of Israel made for themselves the dens, the cave, and the strongholds in the mountains to live in.
It was then that an angel of the Lord visited Gideon who was threshing wheat in the winepress in order to hid it from the Midianites. Gideon questioned the angel because he was dissatisfied with their situation. He expressed uncertainty in his response, (if the Lord is with us), asking what many people ask during times to struggle. Gideon truly believed the Lord has forsaken them.
Maybe you are facing similar situation like Gideon, there’s constant struggle in your life, you can’t figure out the direction of your life. I think it’s about time you get dissatisfied with your situation, and tell yourself “enough is enough,” “I’m not going to live like this anymore, “God wants more for me.”
After Gideon has shown his dissatisfaction with his situation, the angel of the Lord told him to go in that might (Judges 6:14). And God promised Gideon he would be victorious, not because Gideon was mighty but because He has said, surely “I will be with you.” This is God’s word for you, He is with you, don’t sit there till you die, rise up and take what is rightfully yours according to God’s promise (Jeremiah 29:11). As long as you can settle for God’s less you will not experience the abundant life He promised.
The Christian’s confidence should rest in God’s presence and power, not in personal abilities or resources!
Consider this:
- What is going on in your life that is making you have sleepless nights?
- Do you know that God wants more for your life?
Prayer: Father, I thank You and believe in Your promise that You are with me always. Help me to live the abundant life You promised, by taking what is rightfully mine. Amen!
